“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of deliverance (Ps. 32:7).”

It occurs to me on this Christmas Eve that I can never know the marvelous deliverance of God–this being surrounded by His songs of deliverance–if I am never in a hard-pressed place. If I never have enemies. If I am never in danger or in need of delivering. If I am never opposed or under threat.

I remember today how completely safe I am as a child of my Father. How He saves to the uttermost all who come to Him by faith. How He protects me from trouble and hides me beneath the very feathers of His breast.

Ah, how blessed we are, we who have said the ‘yes’ and have opened our hearts to house Bethlehem’s child. How blessed we are that He came.

I would love for you to join this vast, diverse, colorful, and lively group of children, sitting ’round the Father’s table. I want you to be part of the family.

Merry Christmas, then, from my own family to yours. XO
